Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Please note: I am not asking for money, this is simply here for people who would like to hear my story and donate if they wish to do so. Any amount is appreciated, and all funds received will be used only for medical expenses and nothing else.
I was born with a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot. When I was a day old, I had a temporary surgery to help my heart until I was old enough that the doctors could perform open heart surgery. When I was fifteen months old, I had open heart surgery to repair my heart. I had to have an artificial valve constructed, as one of mine was missing. Now, that valve has not grown with the rest of my adult heart and remains the same size as it was when it was put in, so my heart is not efficiently pumping blood to the rest of my body, and I’m having heart failure. I am 21 years old. Every insurance company I apply to turns me down because of “pre-existing conditions”. I have been turned down for Medicaid, and I am by no means “well-off,” and neither is my family. I’ve tried nearly everything I can to get myself to a cardiologist, and now I am mostly relying on fundraisers, benefits, and donations to get me there.
